The College of Technical Medical at Al-Kitab University began its journey in the academic year 2016-2017, initially as a set of departments within Al-Kitab University. The first department, Pathological Analysis, accepted its inaugural cohort during this period. Over the years, the college expanded with the establishment of several other departments, including Anesthesia Techniques, Optometry Techniques, Radiology and Sonography Techniques, Dental Technology, and Forensic Science Techniques. Most recently, the college introduced the Physical Therapy Techniques Department in the academic year 2022-2023.
In 2018, following the transformation of Al-Kitab University College into a full university, the College of Technical Medical became an independent entity. Since then, the college has remained committed to academic excellence, providing students with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills in various fields of technical medical.
The college prides itself on delivering a high standard of education, training future healthcare professionals who are equipped to meet the demands of the healthcare industry, both locally and internationally. Through a combination of rigorous academic programs, applied research, and hands-on training, the College of Technical Medical Sciences continues to serve as a pillar of innovation and excellence in Iraq’s medical education landscape.

Welcome to the College of Technical Medical at Al-Kitab University. The college started as departments within Al-Kitab University in the academic year 2016-2017, with the Pathological Analysis Department accepting its first batch. Subsequently, other departments were established, including Anesthesia Techniques, Optometry Techniques, Radiology and Sonography Techniques, Dental Technology, Forensic Science Techniques, and most recently, Physical Therapy Techniques in the academic year 2022-2023. The college became an independent entity in 2018 after the transformation of Al-Kitab University College into a full university.

Vision
To produce outstanding technical medical professionals in various fields of health and medical technology, recognized locally, regionally, and globally for delivering advanced, high-quality healthcare services to society.
- Train students in the Department of Anesthesia to operate, monitor, and maintain anesthesia devices and medical equipment in operating rooms, recovery wards, and intensive care units.
- Provide practical training to students in the Department of Optometry, enabling them to serve society by offering medical services such as strabismus correction, refractive error examinations, visual field testing, and the provision of glasses and contact lenses.
- Equip students in the Department of Dental Technology with skills to perform dental restorations, create partial and complete dentures, and handle both movable and fixed orthodontics, as well as root fillings and dental bridge work.
- Prepare students in the Department of Radiology and Sonography Techniques to be pioneers in radiological and medical imaging education, contributing to development and research in Iraq’s healthcare system.
- Train students in the Department of Forensic Science Techniques to develop high scientific competencies in crime detection, fingerprint analysis, evidence gathering, and forensic investigation.
- Provide students in the Pathological Analysis Department with advanced knowledge of modern laboratory technologies for diagnosing microorganisms and blood disorders.
- Nurture qualified and skilled graduates who possess critical thinking and innovation, meeting society’s needs and the job market’s demands.
- Foster high-quality applied research to address challenges in various sectors of the labor market, creating a supportive research environment.
