The College of Dentistry is one of the important colleges at Al-Kitab University. It was initially established as a department within Al-Kitab University College in the academic year 2016-2017 and was transformed into a college in the academic year 2018-2019 after Al-Kitab University College was transformed into Al-Kitab University.

The college is concerned with using modern theoretical, practical, and clinical methods in dentistry. The duration of study at the college is five years, and graduates are awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery. The curricula are based on the curriculum of dental colleges in Iraq according to the decision of the Deans’ Committee of Dental Colleges and the approval of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in 2022.

The Dentistry Department at Al-Kitab University is concerned with building specialized knowledge among students in the fields of modern dentistry and is concerned with the quality of education and its outcomes. It has faculty members with higher degrees and scientific titles who are qualified in academic and practical fields. The college includes lecture halls, each of which can accommodate more than 240 students and is equipped with integrated display and audio devices and air conditioning devices for theoretical lectures, in addition to specialized laboratories equipped with the latest technologies and materials.

There is a special building for the educational hospital for dentistry, which includes ten educational clinics in dental treatment, dental industry, gum diseases, maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric clinic, and dental radiology. Each clinic contains 25 dental chairs. The college has various activities, whether at the faculty level (in writing and publishing research, participating in conferences, holding seminars and workshops, and field visits to hospitals and health centers) or at the student level (scientific, cultural, social, sports, artistic, and volunteer activities).

One of the most important future aspirations in the College of Dentistry is the establishment of a postgraduate program in various branches of dentistry.

The College of Dentistry at Al-Kitab University offers a five-year program culminating in a Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry, with curricula based on those of the University of Baghdad, as per the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The college emphasizes modern theoretical, practical, and clinical dentistry methods, with faculty members who hold advanced degrees and titles. Facilities include lecture halls for 200 students, specialized laboratories with the latest technologies, and a teaching hospital with ten specialized clinics covering various dental fields.

The college actively engages in research, conferences, seminars, workshops, and field visits. It also supports a range of student activities. A key future goal is to establish postgraduate programs in various dentistry branches.
